The Western Tree Nut Association (WTNA) just completed hosting two (2) Fumigation Summits in Tulare and Modesto.  Partnering with Cardinal Professional Products, WTNA held the Fumigation Summits to bring the latest in regulations and stewardship to the industry.  Topics and presenters included Ag Commissioner Reports from Juan Rangel of Tulare County and Melanie Pellegrino of Stanislaus County; Air Pollution Permitting Requirements and Regulations from Erin Scott and Nick Peirce of the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District; Effectiveness of Burrow Fumigants for managing roof rats by Roger Baldwin of UC Cooperative Extension; Driving Improved Fumigation Performance by John Meuller of the Fumigation Company; Regulatory Trends and Recent Updates from Spencer Walse of USDA ARS; DPR Updates on Post Harvest Commodity Fumigation Report and Updated Enforcement Policy by Hamed Madaeni of the California Department of Pesticide Regulation (CDPR); along with product and stewardship updates from Douglas Products on Sulfuryl Fluoride, SYENSQO on cylinderized phosphine. Trece on pheromones, Liphatech on CO2, and Cardinal Professional Products on aluminum phosphide.  More than 150 attended the two events.  A huge thanks to Doug Belle of Cardinal Professional Products on all his efforts to help coordinate and run these two summits.  We also want to thank and recognize the Almond Board of California for being our Lunch Sponsor and Target Specialty Products for sponsoring the Coffee and Morning Break Sessions.
